about

The Fourth Dimension (Subterfuge Records, 2012) is the fourth album by Stay, psych rock band from Barcelona. Cosmic Rough Rider's Daniel Wylie, a friend of the band (he collaborated on the previous Stay album Passport to Freedom) encouraged the band to record new stuff in the UK. Stay decided to move to Liverpool to work with the producer Fran Ashcroft (Damon Albarn, Abbey Road,..) and record it in a semi-analog old school way on december 2011. Later, Roger Rodés (Posies, Rainbow Quartz' Gallygows, Youssou N'Dour, Macaco..), a catalan engineer two times Golden Record in Spain, mixed the album that was finally released (CD and vinyl) on september 18th, 2012 by Subterfuge Records.
The first single 'The Change Is Coming' (nominated as a best national song in the spanish indie Pop Eye Contest) opens an album full of groovy retrorock, jangly acidic guitars and 60s-90s inspired pop soft psych. Its music video, about the Spanish Revolution movement and the Wall Street occupy, became a trending topic with significant press coverage in Spain. Songs like 'Yellow Rainbows', 'You Got Me Going' and 'Time Machine' demonstrate the band’s flair for tightly composed songs that include brief but awesome instrumental segments, excellent guitar-organ interplay, plus great melodies that shape the most original and authentic Stay sound ever.
